Shows & Events

The theater, with near-perfect sight lines and acoustics, provides the perfect venue for a wide array of touring performing artists as well as local productions.

Since its opening in 1989, the theater has hosted Grammy Award winners, world-renown classical, jazz and blues musicians, repertory theater tours, opera, drama, comedy, musicals, tribute bands, indie-rock, southern-rock, Christian-rock and alternative-rock bands, acapella groups, acrobats, dancers, children and family shows, and more!

Youth Theater Education

Annually, 10,000 children ages K-12, from 42 schools in a four-county region benefit from our educational programs.The Ragland’s Arts Education programs provide cultural experiences to schoolchildren through:

Curriculum-based student Matinees, Youth stARTS in county schools

Youth theater classes, Rag Tag Choirs and Teen Theater Program

Workshops and Summer day camps for grades K-12

Residencies with professional Artists as well as Pre-concert lectures or Master Classes

Fundraising & Development

The Ragland, a non-profit organization, receives no state or local tax dollars and depends upon the generosity of local businesses and individuals keep the theater’s doors open, the heat and lights on, and the stage filled with entertainment and excitement!

The theater works with a multitude of state foundations and federal grant opportunities related to the Arts.

We also rely heavily on local patrons attending live performances and community events as well as our wonderfully gracious donors!
